They're so cute! Can you pet them? I've never seen one up close.
And actually, that's not either of the ones I drive by, which are actually in Franklin County, but damn close to Pataskala. So that means there's at least three within mere miles of me! Exciting!
I also live near a man and woman who own apes. I can see them bouncing around their ape cage if I drive by at the right time.
Oh, yeah, you can totally pet them! The only rule is that you can't pet them on the tops of their heads, because that's where predators typically attack, so it (understandably) freaks 'em out. It's funny, because their necks look so skinny, but when you pet them, you realize their wool is actually inches thick.
You're so lucky to live in an alpaca epicenter. That said, I think the ape thing would really depress me.
